I grew up eating bread and feta
cheese at every dinner.
My childhood was filled with
watching my Greek grandmothers cook the most delicious food in the world. I say
watching because they occasionally let me the stir rice pudding or
spread butter on some filo dough. They were perfectionists and you could
taste it in their dishes. My mom was a mediocre cook, so I
quickly learned how to recreate a few of their staples.
During college, the extent of my cooking was adding ranch dressing to pizza. In 2007, I
moved to Chicago for my first real job in the big city. That is when I
started taking cooking seriously.
I'm by no means a pro and am still
in amateur status. All I know (from watching way too much food network and top
chef) is to always taste your food and cook with what you like to drink.
I live in Chicago with my wonderful
husband Sean. I studied engineering and work in tech. Besides cooking, I love
to shop, dance, and am addicted to HBO & Showtime series. Current favorites are
Dexter, Game of Thrones, and Homeland.
This blog will take you through my
adventures with food and eating. You will find Greek recipes passed down through
generations, tasty meals I've learned from friends, things I've created, and
hopefully dishes from delicious restaurants I'll visit.

appetite, buen provecho, bon apetit)
